Growing up as a first-generation college graduate from Fort Worth, Texas, Camika’s personal experiences deeply informed her commitment to advocacy and educational equity. During her undergraduate studies at Texas Christian University, she supported first-generation students as a mentor and served as a community outreach intern at the Child Advocacy Center of Tarrant County. These early roles opened her eyes to the significant impact one individual can have on a child’s life, particularly when it comes to educational support, emotional well-being, and advocacy.

Camika’s educational journey continued at the University of Texas at Austin, where she earned her Master’s and Specialist Degree in School Psychology. There, she encountered firsthand the educational disparities facing marginalized communities. Working with young children in Early Childhood Special Education, she recognized a critical need for increased parental awareness and community resources. Driven by this discovery, Camika began offering professional development to childcare providers and families, empowering them with tools to support their children’s educational and emotional needs.
